  • Biomechanical re-education exercises
  • Electrical treatments
  • Acupuncture
  • Self-help advice

What can be treated?

A wide range of physical problems can be treated. Some examples are shown below.

  • Back and neck pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Occupational injuries
  • Arthritis and Mobility problems
  • Joint and muscle injuries
  • Trapped nerves and sciatica

  • Whiplash and postural problems
  • Post surgical rehabilitation

Physiotherapy can also be effective for a number of other conditions such as jaw pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, tinnitus, flat feet, and balance problems.

When to seek treatment

Generally speaking:

The longer you have had a problem the longer it takes to get rid of it so early treatment is advisable

Treatment at Cinderhill Physiotherapy

Your first appointment will consist of assessment and treatment. A detailed history and physical examination are made. Following this the nature of your problem will be discussed with you, including; the type of treatment recommended, the likely outcome of treatment and if possible an estimate of the number of treatments required. The initial appointment is for approximately 40 minutes and follow-up appointments 30 minutes.

When Physiotherapy is appropriate

  • If you are suffering pain which you can relate to some physical activity or you can localise to a muscle or joint, physiotherapy can often help.

  • If you have suffered a major injury e.g. a car crash or fall from a height, you should seek immediate medical attention. Physiotherapy treatment is often appropriate afterwards.

  • If you are suffering pain of an unknown origin, physiotherapy may be able to help but you should seek your GP's advice first.
